Welded pipe & hollow section

The raw material element of Welded tubes and profiles is wide hot rolled coil from domestic or imported sources, which is slit down to suitable widths for formation into tube.

The slit strip in coil form is then continuously uncoiled and fed into the roll stands. The rolls form a circular tube which is continuously welded where both edges meet. The tube surface and weld are then cooled in line and usually lightly oiled.

From this point various in-line roll combinations shape the tube into a square or rectangle section whilst retaining the weld and maintaining straightness.

The finished section progresses to the in-line saw where required lengths are cut and the pieces are automatically bundled prior to wrapping and strapping.
